[Mt Union, PA] — [December 4, 2025] — Upward Broadband, a high-speed internet service provider to rural Pennsylvania, proudly announces the completion of a new communications tower, further advancing our ongoing effort to bring reliable connectivity to unserved and underserved communities.
This project is a key step forward in bringing dependable, high-speed internet to rural families and businesses. With the new tower online, over 900 nearby locations can reach speeds up to 500 Mbps, giving them the bandwidth they need for remote work, online classes, telehealth visits, and streaming.
This deployment uses Tarana’s Next-Generation Fixed Wireless technology, which has transformed broadband delivery by providing dramatically higher speeds and wider serviceable coverage. Its ability to cut through obstructions such as trees and buildings makes it ideal for the tough conditions common in rural communities.
“This tower represents more than new equipment. It represents new opportunity,” said Tim Beiler, CEO of Upward Broadband. “For the families, farms, cabins, and local businesses that rely on a strong connection, this is a meaningful step forward. We’re pleased to bring dependable internet to a community that deserves to stay connected and thrive.”
This tower is the third of 18 being built from the ground up with the help of NTIA, Huntingdon County, Fulton County, and Alleghenies Broadband, Inc. Each tower brings us closer to connecting more homes and businesses in the community to fast, dependable internet. A ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate this progress will take place at 11:30 PM on Thursday, December 4, at the Mt. Union Fire Company in Mt. Union.
