Upward Broadband is proud to announce the activation of a new tower funded through the Pennsylvania Broadband Infrastructure Program, marking another major step forward in delivering dependable, high-speed internet to our region.
This tower will extend broadband access to more than 31,000 residents and businesses across Lebanon and Lancaster Counties, offering speeds up to 1 Gigabit per second.
Beyond speed, Upward Broadband is committed to providing internet without the hassle. That means straightforward plans, reliable performance, and no unnecessary complications. Customers also benefit from live, local customer support: Real people right here in the community who understand the needs of the region and are ready to help.
This expansion represents meaningful progress in strengthening Pennsylvania’s digital infrastructure and closing the connectivity gap for rural and underserved communities.
“The wireless technology deployed at this location is remarkable since it enables the delivery of gigabit speeds over significant distances. It is approximately 10 times the speed of our legacy network. For many homes and businesses in this area, our service now delivers the fastest speeds available at pricing that remains affordable and competitive. High-speed, dependable internet isn’t optional anymore. It’s fundamental to how we work, learn, access healthcare, and manage daily life,” said Tim Beiler, CEO of Upward Broadband. “Every tower we deploy expands access across Pennsylvania, strengthens local businesses, and opens new opportunities for the families and communities we’re proud to serve. We’re pleased to pair cutting-edge wireless capability with simple, reliable service and responsive local support.”
Upward Broadband will celebrate this milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Schaefferstown Volunteer Fire Company, located at Locust Street and West Oak Street in Schaefferstown, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. State and local officials, along with community members, will gather to recognize the impact of expanded broadband access and the long-term economic and social benefits it brings to the region.
This project was financed, in part, by a grant from the U.S. Department of the Treasury under the administration of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority.
